My mattermost server is currently down but I’d like to read some messages. I’m on MacOS, I’ve seen there are some cached files in ~/Library/Application Support/Mattermost but I can’t read them.
Is there a way to read client sided cached discussions even if the remote server is down ?

Based on my understanding, you would like to still be able to view cached messages that were sent to Mattermost prior to the server being down via the desktop app.
May I know if you were still logged in to your Mattermost session when the server went down or you were actually trying to log in to your desktop app based on the last session stored without the need of retrieving new messages via websocket?
