Few observations about your setup.
- Have you installed Mattermost on your local machine or on a server? You’ll want it on a server for a subdomain to work properly.
- I would encourage you to start from scratch on the install here since it seems you are still in the initial setup phases. Keep the vanilla config and slowly make changes and test so you understand how to set it up and can quickly identify if something breaks it.
However:
Creating a subdomain will be dependent on where you are hosting. You can find more information from this Digital Ocean post here.
Once you have done the above, you’ll want to begin configuration here.
