Mattermost Server installation on SLES 12 SP2?

Hello,

I want to install mattermost server on SLES 12 SP2 with postgresql and apache instead nginx, is it possible?
If yes, any related guide for the installation & configuration?

Hello @andrian!

Thank you for your question! You can find installation guides here. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, please feel free to post back here and I’ll ask one of our devs for help.

I haven’t tried it myself, but someone has posted an Apache proxy config for Mattermost here: https://gist.github.com/misje/52551fc43754d2e27f32

Hello @lindy65

I still can’t find what I’m looking for :((

Hello @JeffSchering

okay thanks for the feedback, I’ll try it.

btw I’ve successfully install mattermost server on SLES 12 SP2 with Nginx proxy, and I can access through my web browser using secure connection (https) without any problem.

But when I try to access with mattermost app on android using https, I got the error message “Mattermost server unreachable, incompatible or SSL is not properly configured”

any suggestion?

Thanks @andrian for the report. Glad you got the server up and running.

Which device does the issue reproduce?

Also, are you using the old iOS/Android app (named “Mattermost (2016)”, or the new Beta app?

Hi @jasonblais thanks for the reply.

The issue reproduce in Mattermost android app, I’m using Mattermost app v3.6.0, not beta app.

Is there any bug on app? or misconfiguration on my server?

Hi @andrian,

Would this reply from @prixone be helpful? HTTPS can't open on Mattermost mobile

I guess the installation guide for RHEL 7.1 could be used to install on SLES 12.3
https://docs.mattermost.com/install/install-rhel-71.html#installing-postgresql-database

However would been nice to have an installation guide written specifically for SLES with Apache alternative for the 3 NGINX steps in the guide. Since SLES comes with Apache and doesn’t have packages for NGINX. Though SLES 15 has the nginx package.

However for evaluation purpose the Docker instruction was very easy to use to get Mattermost up and running.
